Bar Minty Media welcomes new client, The Common Good, a pop-up specializing in tasty, healthy and crave-worthy comfort food. The pop-up started mid-pandemic when chefs Jeffrey Baker and Adam Gericke found themselves visiting farmers markets and being inspired to make comfort food like mac and cheese, shrimp po-boys and their take on an Impossible burger.
Located at Food Lab, the pop-up is open Monday through Saturday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Dine-in is available as well as take-out and delivery via their website and food apps. No fees applied when ordering directly from their website.

I recently checked out the pop-up before signing them as a client.
I was so delighted by the Korean fried popcorn chicken. Korean fried cauliflower is also available. The flavor is spot on. Plus, check out the Evan Kleinman vegetable plate. It features farmers market finds and is named after KCRW’s Good Food host Evan Kleinman.
I also loved the shrimp and cheddar grits plus the cornmeal crust pizzas.

Common Good is such a cute space. Find them in the alley behind Petit Trois and Cat and Fiddle on Highland off Melrose avenues.

Growing up in Los Angeles, I find our pizza to be quite excellent. We don’t need to shout about if New York or Chicago has better pizza. Instead, get a little something from each at Common Good. Their pizza with the corn meal crust is so delicious. I really liked their signature pizza, the Common Good but was surprised how much I liked the taco pizza!
Who knew the refried beans, chips and sour cream could caption our taco-obsessed city’s hearts… or is it stomachs?

And to end on a sweet note, there are pies in the jar available. I tried the key lime pie which I found perfectly balanced between tart and sweet. I’m looking forward to trying the banana cream pie in a jar next. And may I suggest a Thanksgiving pie… pumpkin pie in a jar, anyone?
